Basicly, a copyright is a way to give ownership to something written down and that can be copied. And a person does NOT have to put a notice in writing to have a copyright (not here in the US anyway)! Unless the author explicitly puts something in the public domain, or gives it away, or sells it, he has a copyright! This means when a program is put on a web site, or even when you load someone else's program in your HP48, ownership STILL belongs to the author! You are basicly using someone else's program! This is usually not a bad thing as MOST HP48 programs (except some commercial programs and such) are meant to be shared! But most of these programs are also intended to be FREE! And as they belong to the authors, they should NOT be sold without direct permission from the authors (the programs STILL belong to the authors!). Selling something that belongs to someone else is very lame! It is WRONG, IMMORAL, and ILLEGAL! And it is disrespectful to other people, their property, and their rights! And showing support for such an action is also pretty lame. How many programs of yours is he selling? If the answer is none, then maybe you should SHUT THE HELL UP! Because while you have ALL the right in the world to speak about YOUR work, you have NO RIGHT to tell me how to feel, or what to do about MY programs! Any money they received was for the media and copying services and such! They made NO MONEY from them! And the programs and such were actually free! 4) While I supported Joe Horn and EduCALC with their goodies disk, I would be MUCH LESS likely to support a private individual as VERY few (if any) would be willing to go through the hassles for strictly NO PROFIT! Now, IF these CDROMs were being sold for a non-profit price (less than $5), then we WOULDN'T be having this discussion!
