Why don't you or somebody else first try and then post? Meanwile I brought the smlest lib splitter down to 245 nibbles = 122.5 bytes. I doubt ts can still be improved. The huge CAS lib 222 is split on the 49+ in a source DIR of 80 (!) pages, created by Split in 20_s. Is it useful to split intern libs? Yes, it is. E.g., splitting the huge library 2 (Split creates its 66 pages in 13.4_s) shows that the 49 got the new commands RPL>, UNROT, UNPICK, NIP, PICK3, DUPDUP, NDUPN, FAST3D, found at the end of the source DIR. You now can quietly study how user commands were programmed. The other new commands ->LANGUAGE,...,DISPXY are in lib 221. It follows that the 49+ didn't add new user commands. http://page.mi.fu-berlin.de/~raut/WR49/index.htm#Misc === Subject: Re: UserRPL CODE Objects on the HP48GII & HP49G+ Perhaps the smlest existing one for a HP cculator - only 135 bytes. > Only 270 nibbles? I just went through commerce.hpcc.org, and l the cculators seem pretty cheap, compared to the price over here in germany. A 49g+ is just $150 (spping included), wch is only about 130 Euros. Does anyone know what happens if the package has to go through the cuss? How much would that cost? Is there any tax to pay for the US? Anyway, at the moment I'm still stuck with my HP 49G, wch, sorry, totly sucks. Now I'm tnking about to get either a 49G+ or an used 48GX. I need the cculator for an exam in july... I could do that with the 49g as well, but I tnk I'll never use the 49g again when my studies are over, cause it takes like 5 minutes to cculate 5 + 5. (or 5 5 +). A collegue of mine has a 49g+ and is very satisfied, but I've read in ts group that most everyone likes the 48GX more... I'll see, maybe I get the possibility to cross-compare the two models at my university. And, BTW, what about the HP48G manu offered at commerce.hpcc.org? Is it a tot command reference, so usable for newer models, or is it similar to the bad manu(s) of the 49G? The 48 is not faster (well a bit but it is not noticeable) than the 49. Now that I am used to the 49g+ I fl asleep waiting for results from the older ccs. What I mean is, that there is (sometimes) a time delay from pressing a button until the letter/digit shows up on the display. Is there any tax to pay for the US? Usuly you'll have to pay German tax with cuss, unless you're very lucky. So cculation woild be: 49G+ $135.- Air Mail $ 20 Sub Tot $155 Tax min 16% $ 25 yes you have to pay tax for the spping costs Tot $180 thats about 150 Euro When you look at www.cynox.de 49G+ 170 Euro Sgipping 5.5 Euro Tot 175.5 You'll end up with a difference of 25 Euros, depending on the exchange rate from US$ to Euro, I assumed 1.20 in my cculation above. Buying from Eric gives you an advantage of 25 Euros, buying from Cynox (or others, check links below) gives you the advantage of the extended German warranty including Fernabsatzrecht with less hassle in case of problems. In frustration I > discovered that holding the A and ON keys simultaneously would turn it > on. so, ON/+ and ON/- do not adjust display contrast. Ageing 48 ccs sometime (ways) show ts problem. It is due to the fact that the keyboard connections to the PCB are secured by pression from a foam pad situated under the C key. As the foam gets older it loses its spring and the connection gets bad. There are 2 solutions. The first is to ways press above the C key when using the keypad (it starts with ON but progresses to other keys afterwards), or openning the cculator and place a bit of sticky tape under the foam to tcken it. Opening the cculator is not straighforward and should only be undertaken by someone with the experience and courage to do it. === Subject: Re: To French and Spanish users > Wolfgang, I have tried to email you the translation twice over the last few > weeks but as it does not appear on your web site, I wonder if you received > it? My second 49G+ (CN40208414 from Eric at hpcc.org) is the improved model. Some people have said that they didn't notice the difference in sound between old and new keyboard. Ts difference for me is huge and is completely obvious, even non-users notice; on the second macne, l keys are softer, and there is hardly any difference in sound between the top keys and the bot keys. I was never bothered about the sound, but someone who doesn't notice the difference does not have the new keyboard that I have. The accuracy of the keyboard is much better (with a week of use bend that observation). In some testing I did, the miskey rate was >5% for the old keyboard and is 1.5% for the new keyboard (at gh speed keying of a phone ). It was rely easy for me to get mis-keys on two keys on the old macne: my record was 30 times in a row. My skills don't let me fool the new keyboard. The best keyboard for me is on my 28C, but the new keyboard on the 49G+ is satisfactory. Given l the other improvements (speed, display, USB and the interesting idea of SD card, and the better documentation) ts is an excellent product. I am a proud owner and a happy user. I rely wish I could use ts device with Windows XP as an extern keypad for my notebook. === Subject: Video in 16 greysce levels on hp49g+ You dreamt of it, we did it : download a sample at : http://hp49plus.free.fr/Video.dir Dark. === Subject: Re: Video in 16 greysce levels on hp49g+ > You dreamt of it, we did it : > download a sample at : > http://hp49plus.free.fr/Video.dir I guess you could have chosen a better movie but well it is a good step === Subject: Re: Video in 16 greysce levels on hp49g+ >>You dreamt of it, we did it : >>download a sample at : >>http://hp49plus.free.fr/Video.dir > I guess you could have chosen a better movie but well it is a good step Can you give some characteristics, as lenght of the video, quity, lcd memory effect, etc...
