You will see two round plastic rivits.Use a razor blade and cut them off ŝush. They can be easily replacedwith screws later, and are not even mandatory. Next use a small knife,or Ŝngernail, and seperate the dark plastic band from the bottom halfof the calculator. Do this starting up near the USB port, and workingyour way around the calculator. You will probably notice a slight gapin the trim piece up near the USB if you look closely. The calculatoris snapped together during assembly, with the bottom half snapping tothe top half. I have had mine apart 20 times and the snaps still gripand release like new. There is nothing more to opening the calculator. With dissambly this far, you can install a switching type DC powerjack (I have), and even connect a LED (I have)in parallel with thepizo buzzer. This is also all the further you need to go if you areone of the people that bent a contact inside of your batterycompartment, and you want to make a repair. Also, if your SD cardsocket would ever wear out from heavy use, you can order the part onthe internet, and solder it in yourself. I absolutly love my hp, and it seems to me that someone took somewell planned design considerations regarding repairability. In actuality though, integrating somebody elses basically un-commented code would be rather challenging without direct input from the author, in this case me. As it is, most of it is four years old, and I still canıt Ŝgure out what a few of the commands even do, which is something of a problem, since I am trying to complete the documentation.Since they generally will evaluate to another trigonometric relation if you use them symbolically, they will integrate and differentiate. For example, << ŒXı CSC >> would evaluate to Œ1/SIN(X)ı, and so it would integrate, differentiate, etc.The only major issue is with the equation writer. For some reason it will not let me enter CSC(X). I can type in CSC, but it just beeps at me when I hit the () button. I never use the equation writer myself, but I am sure that other people do. Does anybody know how to easily get the equation writer to allow a function? This piece of code does what> I think you want (in traditional hp syntax):> CODE> ST=1 15 * turn on I/O> GOVLNG =PUSH#ALOOP * push bint to stack> ENDCODE> A quick note:This will NOT re-enabled the interrupt. The reason the interrupt are disabled after youıve performed ST=0.15 (the ofŜcial name of this ŝag is sALLOWINTR) is because it is checked by the interrupt handler which will do a simple ReTurN instead of doing a ReTurn Interrupt (RTI). So hardware-wise youıre still in interrupted mode so no new interrupt can be generated. The only way (and ofŜcial) way of re-enabling the interrupt is to call the entry point =AllowIntr. In your particular case, youıre lucky that your calculator works again because one of the Ŝrst thing the kernel does is to re-enabled the interrupt (it would have been a different matter on the 48G!)But try calling your code, followed by a 1 100000 FOR I NEXT ; you will be stuck until the loop Ŝnishes with no way of stopping it====> assembler on 49g+):[snip]> Theoretically, I should run it, and it will not stop until> I press a button in the right column (ENT, +, -, etc.), at> which point it should return the row number. Shouldnıt this be impossible, since> the other keys should not be getting any signal from OUT?> Even presing ON will return #1000000000000000b. I know the> program is written horribly, but still.Youıre missing one important point. in fact maybe two.Doing INTOFF will not prevent the interrupt to happen, just that a keypress will not generate an interrupt or other maskable interrupt. Clock, ON key etc can still occur. If any interrupt occurs the keyboard will still get scanned. This is the reason why even though you speciŜed a OUT mask you still get to read when another key is pressed. When the interrupt handler scan the keyboard itıs changing the OUT mask in order to scan all keys. Once the scan is completed the interrupt handler will restore the OUT mask stored in the reserver memory. So in theory, your program is dirty (tm) Before changing the out mask you should Ŝrst change the =ORghost variable, then perform OUT=C.That way you can be sure the OUT mask will not change without your knowledge, or more precisely it will change but will be restored at the end.If you perform ST=0.15, then you wonıt see the problem. But forbidding interrupts is not always a good thing. You can endup with a very inaccurate clock if you do so.====> Is there any difference between the RISCH and INT functions? Well, maybe. I donıt know if GETSERIAL or PUTSERIALwill send Xon/Xoffs if IOPAR is set for pacing. There is also the commandDOSRECV which probably does mimic SRECV in the sense of having a pacing option. This is not important now; since the 49G doesnıt have pacing, I canıt use it. Istill might need to make my own form of Xon/Xoff.As a side note, James noted that the Xoff and Xon signals just toggle back andforth in SRECV pacing. This seems to mean that the sending device does not haveto decode the signals, it can just toggle between On and Off upon receipt of astart bit. Or so I think and had planned to use in my device since it savestime and hardware. The testing has also allowed me to begin to get a handle on the timing issue. However, additional testing has been put on hold until I Ŝnd out how to do anindeŜnite loop in sysRPL. The instructions in Kalinowskiıs book are simpleenough - BEGIN UNTIL where the loop continues as long as theloopclause returns TRUE - but for some reason I canıt make it work. The formBEGIN WHILE REPEAT does work using the originalloopclause as test clause and a NOP as the loop clause. Sigh. I hope to havetime this evening to Ŝnd out what is going wrong. If unsuccessful, I willstart a new thread asking for help on that since it might be of generalinterest.By the way, the device Iım building is a simple data logger. It stores a timestamp in memory (8k bytes) whenever an event (a 3v pulse) occurs. It willinitially be used with a rain gauge, an Œeventı being when 0.01in (or 0.1mm) ofrain has fallen.Again, thanks.Robert====> Lithium batts works Ŝne for a short time, 10 days more or less. > In my opinion the worse problem of them is that when your HP shows the> Ŝrst LOW BATT advice you need replace them, or you will lost all> memory in few minutes. You have not installed SASM.exe the Saturn Assembler, i think that youcan get this and other tools from the HPGOODIES disk 4. (which is deŜnately onHPCALC.org)2. You have not set the correct paths from HP-IDE to the dir in which SASMis located. I usedintegration by parts and designated:u= ln(x+(1+x^2)^(1/2))dv = dxThis can be done by hand but on the hp you will write in RPN mode:level2: ln(x+(1+x^2)^(1/2))level1: xIBPWhich yields: x*ln(x+(1+x^2)^(1/2)) <--- this is u(x)v(x) -x*sqrt(x^2+1)/(x^2+1) <-----this is -uı(x)v(x)Then you need to integrate -x*sqrt(x^2+1)/(x^2+1) again to get-sqrt(x^2+1)Finally you can add these two together to get x*ln(x+(1+x^2)^(1/2))- sqrt(x^2+1).====> OK THnx for the help, but when i put in an ln function , such as ln(x+> (1+x^2)^(1/2))>> it jus returned the same function, however with insetad of, x, it gave> me xt>> any reason?Try sqrt instead of ^(1/2)====I know on the 48 series, to turn on the buzzer in assembly you do somethingalong the lines ofLC(5) #800OUT=C(concerned mainly with the hex number #800h)and never had trouble.
