Hi; Do Anyone know if there is a good website or calculator that will helpwith Intermediate Algebra? I am starting Intermediate Algebra, and I see that I am going to need alot of help, judging from what I done in introduction to Algebra. So I washoping that there might be a good website or calculator that would help me.I asked My instructor and he just sugges a calculator that does SquareRoots. In fact he is not offering any help at all, is normal? I am takingthe course through e-mail and phone calls (if he calls me back). Let me knowThank you in advance.-- M. REVELS>mlrisok@sbcglobal.netThe kind of calculator you need is a scientific calculator. A graphingcalculator is good only when you understand the mathematics which you areexamining with it. A good, old fashioned textbook is much, much better than aweb site and phone calls. Quite possibly you did not effectively learnelementary algebra and should restudy it in order to effectively studyintermediate algebra. G C=== === Subject: : Parametric to cartesianCould someone help me to convert this parametric equation to cartesian form.x = t^2 - 3t + 2y= t + 1=== === Subject: : Re: Parametric to cartesian>Could someone help me to convert this parametric equation to cartesian form.>x = t^2 - 3t + 2>y= t + 1Converting parametric equations for another form involves solving one of them for the parameter (t) in terms of the other variable, then substituting the result in the remaining equation(s).Here, is it easiest to solve for t in terms of x or t in terms of y? I think most people would say t in terms of y is easier. Do that, then substitute into the equation for x. You will now have an equation involving only x and y.Depending on the form your teacher requires, that may be enough, or you may need to do further algebra to convert it to an equation with y isola on the left and some expression in x on the right.-- Stan Brown, Oak Road Systems, Cortland County, New York, USA http://OakRoadSystems.comAddress munging may or may not reduce the spam you get; it surelyreduces the number of useful answers you get. http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/usenet/laws.html
